Confused about Inverters, VFD's, 3phase, single phase, Air cooled, water cooled?
Here is some simple helpful information.
A VFD is the same as an Inverter. It basically changes the input AC wave (whether 240vac or 380vac or 415vac) into something that it can send to the Spindle Motor and vary the speed.
You can have 240vac (same as 220vac) single phase (house electric) Inverter that will supply a 240vac (220vac) 3 phase Spindle motor. If you are using this on domestic electric you should not go above 2.2kW
A 380vac Spindle requires 415vac 3phase Inverter. The output voltage can be turned down to 380vac. These are generally used on industrial electric supplies so the current (amps) isn't really an issue.
Air cooled is simple, electric fans are much quieter than a fan that is mounted onto the spindle shaft. Water cooling is very efficient but the spindles will be more expensive and you will need coolant tank, correct coolant and some way of monitoring the coolant level so the spindle cannot fry itself.
If you buy an Inverter & spindle package from us we will program it and set it up so you can just plug it in and use it.
